Gorumara National Park situated on the banks of the Murti and the Jaldhaka river banks. Spread over an area of 80 square kilometres, it has a large variety of flora and fauna on display to visitors, nature lovers and wild life photographers. Full of riverine grasslands and moist deciduous forests, the place is famous for Asiatic one-horned rhino, Asian elephants, leopards, sambars, gaurs etc,. Besides it also houses many other mammals, reptiles, insects and birds. On top of that one can also enjoy wild life safaris in Gorumara National Park. These safaris enables you to observe the animals and birds from a close distance from watch towers located at different points in the National Park.
Gorumara National Park in Duars region of northern West Bengal along the Himalayan oothills, is a medium-sized park with grasslands and forests. It is primarily known for its population of Indian Rhinoceros. The park has been declared as the best among the protected areas in India by the Ministry of Environment and Forests for the year 2009.
