Lying deep in the Nilgiri Hills (blue Mountain) at an altitude of 2,268m, Ooty is south India most famous hill station.

The famous hill station of Ooty has been a favorite summer holiday gateway for the British, during colonial days. Now ooty is become one of the most popular tourist destination for any common man. The town sprawls across hills and abounds with relics, old Gothic-style buildings, churches, parade grounds, country cottages, tea gardens and botanical gardens. Ooty is very famous for the rarely availale mountain train journey (Steam Train / Toy Train) on a ratchet and pinion track wending its way through many hair-raising curves, tunnels etc..and chugs along deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams and tea gardens.
