Former palace of the Shah Kings

The Narayanhiti Palace, now a museum was the former Royal Palace of the Shah Rulers of Nepal until the revolution of 2006 took over the Monarchy. It is historically important because of the Royal family assassination in 2001.

Visitors are able to view the old furniture and art collection that has been in the palace for centuries and marvel at the ornaments and lifestyle of the royals, the one that people only can dream. Valuable medals and idols are also on display, including a fleet of historic vehicles, of which one was gifted by Hitler to King Tribhuvan. While other items like the Royal Crown and throne are not open to viewing due to security reasons.
