The heart of Pokhara.

Phewa lake or Phewa tal is the second largest lake in Nepal, and is one of the main attraction and a major landmark in Pokhara. It measures about 1.5km in length and 4kms in breadth. It spreads across with the summit of Mt. Machhapuchre rising at the background. On a clear day one can see the reflection of the Machhapuchhre on the lake, creating a double image. The southwestern shore is densely forested and the eastern shore is lined up with endless hotels, lodges, restaurants, bookshops and souvenir shops. One can easily find a place to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery around. Most hotels and guest houses have traditional designs and layouts which match with the surrounding views. Apart from this you can go for boating on one of the brightly colored wooden boats, take a walk along the lake or simply enjoy and relax at your hotel.
