Gasa Hot Springs to Gasa Dzong || Gasa Hot Springs to Gasa Dzong Trek

Relax this morning and enjoy the hot spring. After lunch we'll walk to Gasa Dzong, which is a steep 2hours of climb uphill. Gasa is the district head quarter of the remote villages of Laya and Lunana. It is the most remote district capital with no motorable road as yet. Gasa (2770m) is a village rather than a town with about 10 small shops, a school, small police post, a clinic, a forest office and the district administration office located in Gasa Dzong. Take in the spectacular views from this medieval fortress, built in 17th century to protect from Tibetan invaders in the north. Overnight camp in the field near the town.
