Gasa - Koina || Gasa – Koina Trek - Laya
Approx. 14km, 6-7hrs trek/ 1710m ascent, 900m descent.
From Gasa, we begin a climb upward, through wooded forests and first cross a 3080m ridge, then downhill for a bit and steeply uphill to cross the Bari La pass (at 3900m). The muddy trail goes through a deep forests of fir, in and out of side valleys for almost 3hrs and make a long descent to Koina, a small clearing in gorge at 3050m. This is an avoidable and rather unpleasant muddy camp site. There is small stone shelter built for the trekkers here.
