International Mountain Museum || A museum dedicated to mountains and mountaineering
The International Mountain Museum is a landmark destination in Pokhara. It is the only mountain museum in the world that showcases all values and mysteries of the mountains. It illustrates various aspects of mountaineering tourism, mountain activities and mountains. The Museum has an astonishing collection of artifacts, original gears of mountaineers, stories and photographs of the mountains, their inhabitants' and the explorers who climbed some of the highest peaks in the world. The museum gives you a description of the people living in the Himalayas and the 14 highest peaks and their most famous expeditions.
International Mountain Museum was established in 1995 by Nepal Mountaineering Association. The basic objective for its establishment was made to record, document and chronicle the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world and to preserve the legend of the significant accomplishment in the history of mountaineering particularly in the Himalayas.
