Jakar Dzong || The castle of white bird

Jakar Dzong, meaning the "Castle of the White Bird," is perched atop a picturesque ridge overlooking Chokhor valley and the town of Chamkhar in Bumthang, Bhutan. Constructed in 1667 on the site of an earlier temple and later refurbished in 1683, it boasts impressive walls and an elegantly beautiful structure. As you enter, you'll find the outer courtyard, surrounded by administrative offices, leading to an inner courtyard enveloped by quarters for the resident monks.
