Lumbini Museum || A Bhuddhist Museum in Lumbini
Lumbini Musuem located inside the sacred garden area is housed in a 1970's vaulted brick structure, designed by the world famous Japanese architect Kenzo Tange. The Lumbini museum is now reimagined by architect Kris Yao from Taiwan and his team. The museum displays history and culture dating back to 4th century AD. The exhibition is spread over several rooms and displays about 12000 artifacts including religious manuscripts, metal sculptures, Terracotta's, coins from Maurya and Khusana dynasty and stamps from all over the world depicting Lumbini. To the opposite of the Lumbini Musuem is the the Lumbini International Research institute which provides opportunity to study and research about religions in general and Buddhism in particular.
