Punakha || Drive from Punakha to Gangtey
The drive from Punakha to Gangtey is a scenic journey passing through Wangdue township, lush valleys, dense forests, and winding mountain roads. As you ascend towards Gangtey, you’ll encounter beautiful forests and occasional glimpses of remote villages. The route, approximately 72 kilometers, takes around 2 hours and offers breathtaking views of the Black Mountains. Just before reaching Pelela Pass, the road diverts to Gangtey, where the expansive and stunning Phobjikha Valley opens up, with Gangtey Monastery perched atop a hill, majestically overlooking the valley.
