Located on the ridge overlooking Punakha & Wangdue. Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang is renowned for its 14-foot bronze statue of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrigzig chagtong chentong) one of the largest statue of its kind in Bhutan. The temple complex also houses a permanent higher learning and meditation centre for nuns, apart from religious trainings, it provides life skill training such as tailoring, embroidery, statue making and thangka painting. The Lhakhang (temple) is double storied with a chorten resembling Boudhanath stupa of Nepal.
