The Japanese Peace Pagoda || The Japanese Peace Pagoda
The Japanese Peace Pagoda situated on the slopes of the Jalapahar hill was built under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist monk from Japan, the founder of Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist order for world peace. This pagoda is the highest free structure in Darjeeling, from the top of the pagoda, you can get the panoramic view of Darjeeling and the Kanchenjunga range. This pagoda houses the four avatars of Buddha including the Maitreya Buddha. Close to it is the Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist temple.
