A group of seven of us, from Dubai, aged between 29 and 73, undertook the Khopra Ridge trek, and included the optional Khayer Lake trek, between the 5th and 9th of April 2025.

Whilst we all felt this was a tough challenge, it really was only the Khayer Lake part which was demanding, due to the big gain in altitude and the 10 hour day. Our excellent and verbally energetic poet and guide Hem, was ably supported by Heera and a great team of porters from Windhorse Travel. I personally would not have succeeded in the optional trek without the porters’ assistance. The accommodation, on the trek, whilst basic at times, was more than adequate, when one considers where we are in the mountains. The food was very good and plentiful.

This is now the 4th time I have engaged Windhorse Travel, and will be happy to recommend them, and will definitely use their services on my next high altitude trek, in this part of the world.
